Jung, an Austrian artist associated with the Wiener Werkstätte, was known for his innovative approach to graphic design and illustration. Born in 1885 in Nikolsburg, Moravia, Jung's life was tragically cut short during World War I, but his work left a lasting impact on the art world.

Jung's style in this piece reflects the influence of the Viennese Secession, characterized by bold lines, simplified forms, and a playful yet incisive narrative quality. "Bloodless Giraffe Hunt" humorously depicts a surreal and whimsical scene where giraffes are 'hunted' in a non-violent manner, likely a satirical take on the absurdity of hunting and the human tendency to dominate nature. This piece exemplifies Jung's philosophical approach of using art as a tool for social critique, blending wit with a profound message.

The artwork falls within the genre of modernist illustration, utilizing techniques such as lithography to achieve its distinct visual impact. Currently, the original work is held in the collection of the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna, serving as a testament to Jung's innovative spirit and the enduring relevance of his work in exploring the intersection of humor, art, and societal reflection.

Printed to order on canvas and set in a natural wood floater frame.
